I’m Anne Stevens, artist and owner of So Pretty It Hurts—a permanent makeup studio built on the radical idea that beauty belongs to the person wearing it. And despite the name, it’s not about pain. So Pretty It Hurts is that feeling when you love something so much it gives your heart a little tug. My goal is for you to feel that way about the face looking back at you. I specialize in microblading, powder and combo brows, permanent eyeliner and lashline enhancement, and lipblushing. But I’m not interested in giving everyone the same brows, the same lips, or the same idea of “pretty.” My work is customized to you—your features, your style, your story, and how you want to look. Think you...but the version you’ve always seen on the inside finally reflected on the outside. I believe deeply in bodily autonomy. There are enough people telling women what they should fix, hide, soften, erase, or become. You won’t find that here. My studio is a judgment-free place to decide for yourself what makes you feel beautiful—and then have an experienced artist help you get there. Expect meticulous artistry, straight answers, good conversation, and a pretty enthusiastic hype woman in your corner. Whether we’re correcting brows that have been through some things, giving you eyeliner you never have to fight with at 7 a.m., or simply doing something because you want to, I want you to leave feeling more like yourself—not less. Life happens—I get it! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment, as well as no-shows, will be charged a 25% cancellation fee. If this occurs, please call to reschedule your appointment.
